Terms of Service

Trusty Law is operated by TrustyCap Technologies, Inc. In these Terms, "TrustyCap", "we", and "us" mean the company TrustyCap Technologies, Inc. "You" means the person using the service.

These Terms are the agreement between you and us for your use of the Trusty Law websites and applications, including gettrustylaw.com, app.gettrustylaw.com, and the Trusty Law apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android. We call all of that the Service.

Trusty Law helps you understand and organize a legal process. It explains published rules and official updates in plain language with a citation to the source, keeps your documents, dates, calls, and notes in one private workspace, and helps you prepare for the conversations ahead.

Trusty Law is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Using Trusty Law does not create an attorney and client relationship. We do not decide whether you qualify for something, predict how a case will end, file anything for you, or contact a government agency on your behalf. The Legal Information Boundary page describes this in detail and forms part of these Terms.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You can sign in with a one time code sent to your email address, or with your Google or Apple account.

Keep your sign in method and your devices secure. You are responsible for activity taken from your account. Tell us at hello@gettrustylaw.com if you think someone else has access.

You own the documents, notes, dates, and records you put into Trusty Law. You give us permission to store, process, and display that content for one purpose only, which is running the Service for you.

We do not sell your content. We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models, and our providers are not permitted to either.

You may not use Trusty Law to plan crimes, harm people, conceal or fabricate evidence, intimidate witnesses, or evade lawful process. The Acceptable Use Policy has the full list and forms part of these Terms.

Trusty Law is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services or any other government agency.

If you add a receipt number, we use it to look up the official status of that case through the USCIS Case Status API, and we record what USCIS returns. Automatic status checks run only after USCIS grants us production access to that API. Until then, your timeline is built from the checks and notes you record yourself, and the app says so plainly.

We never ask for the password to your myUSCIS account, your USPS account, or any other government account, and we never store one. We do not scrape government websites. Official text is kept exactly as it was published and is always shown separately from our explanation of it.

Trusty Law uses AI models to explain official information in plain language, to read documents you upload, and to help organize what you have recorded.

Official data is owned by ordinary code, not by a model. Case status, receipt and form identifiers, dates, and history are recorded, stored, and displayed by deterministic code. A model can explain what official information means. It cannot create, change, or overwrite it.

Explanations are grounded in reviewed official sources and carry a citation. When we do not have a reviewed source for something, the app tells you that instead of guessing.

Nothing you create is shared automatically. When you choose to share a Review Packet with someone, you set what it contains, how long the link works, and whether it needs a password. Links last up to 30 days, you can revoke a link at any time, and you can see when a link was opened.

A person you share with may add comments about format and organization. Sharing a packet does not create a professional relationship between you and the person you share it with, and it does not create one between them and us.

Trusty Law has a free tier and paid subscriptions. Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings, and you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for.

Payments on the web are handled by Stripe. Purchases made inside the iPhone or iPad app are handled by Apple, and purchases made inside the Android app are handled by Google. Purchases made in an app store are governed by that store's terms, including its refund process. We do not receive or store your full card number.

Some features are metered. A metered unit is counted only when the work finishes and passes our checks. If something fails, the unit is released back to you automatically.

Ending a subscription limits features. It does not delete your work. Everything you created stays readable and exportable, and reactivating restores full access.

You can export everything you have stored, at any time, on any plan, including after a subscription ends. You can delete your account from your account settings. Deletion has a 72 hour recovery window in case you change your mind, and after that window your account and its contents are permanently deleted. The Privacy Policy describes exactly what is kept and for how long.

We work to keep Trusty Law available and our sources current, but the Service is provided as it is, without warranties. You are responsible for verifying anything you act on, and for meeting your own deadlines.

We may add, change, or retire features. If we retire something you rely on, we will tell you in advance and give you a way to export what you stored there.

To the extent the law allows, TrustyCap is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, and our total responsibility to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.

You may stop using Trusty Law at any time. We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. Where a suspected imminent risk of harm exists, we treat it as a safety priority and act accordingly.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the Legal Information Boundary together form the whole agreement between you and us for the Service. If these Terms conflict with one of the other three on a point, these Terms control, except that the Privacy Policy controls on how we handle personal information.

If we change these Terms in a way that matters to you, we will email the address on your account and show a notice in the app before the change takes effect. The notice will include a plain language summary of what changed. Continuing to use Trusty Law after that date means you accept the new Terms. If you would rather not accept them, you can export your data and close your account.

The effective date at the top of this page always shows the version in force.
